Like everything else, your online marketing needs to adapt.
I’m excited that I’ve been approved to teach an online marketing for photographers workshop on May 18, 2022. This is a one-day online event being offered through the Professional Photographers of America.
First, we had websites. Then blogs. Social media came onto the scene. Some networks died out, while others thrived. And now it seems that apps and services are all about video. Where do you go as a photographer?
This workshop is all about figuring that out. We’ll survey the online landscape as it sits today, and discuss the strengths (and gaps) of various platforms, services, and online media. From there, we’ll spend time mapping what we’ve learned about the online world into a set of tactics that are customized based on the genre and market position of your individual photography business. The final portion of our day will discuss how those tactics fit into an overall marketing picture, and how to use what you’ve learned as part of an intentional strategy both in the short-term but also into the future.
This isn’t the first time I’ve taught an online marketing for photographers workshop, but this will be a fresh curriculum based on what’s successful now.
I’ll be bringing my perspective as an experienced photographer who often bridges the gap between the photography and online worlds. I follow the latest trends, learn what’s working, and distill that down to the key points for photographers.
PPA members will earn one service merit for attending the entire workshop.
Register at this link on PPA.com – look for “online marketing” or my name on that page and you’ll find it. If you have any questions, drop me an email. I hope to see you in the workshop!
If you’re interested in more learning, I’m also teaching a workshop on image competition a few days prior to this one.
